Summary
- JOB SUMMARY
- The Cardiovascular Technologist performs diagnostic invasive procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Scrubs and assists Cardiologist as requested. Responds to patient distress situations and assists with equipment quality control and inventory management.

- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Graduate of a Cardiovascular Technology program OR equivalent work experience.
- Experience: None required if a CV Tech graduate OR at least two (2) years recent CV Tech experience if not a Cardiovascular Tech program graduate.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: RCIS Certification required within one (1) year of hire if a new graduate of a Cardiovascular Tech program OR upon hire if not a graduate of a Cardiovascular Tech program. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network. ACLS within 90 days of hire.

- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Accredited school.
- Experience: Previous Cath Lab experience.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).

- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to work harmoniously with professional and technical staff and physicians. To communicate verbally and listen to the needs of the patient and the directions of the cardiologist and professional staff within the Cath Lab. Ability to work with and learn to operate technical equipment; to work under stress/pressure; to maintain accurate records/reports; to participate in orientation of new personnel and teaching of students; to see, hear, stand, sit, walk, bend, and speak English; to take call as required; to maintain confidentiality.
- READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
- SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Intermediate Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw or interpret bar graphs to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES - Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment.

- Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking. Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients. Lifts supplies/equipment; and lift up to fifty (50) pounds. Ability to wear lead protective gear for long periods.
